Job Description

We seek Data Analyst roles supporting Fixed Income and/or Equity Reference Data. Should have:
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience completing data analysis and strong interest in data analytics 
  • Background/knowledge of Fixed Income and/or Equity
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partners with portfolio managers and traders to set up and maintain all aspects of security, pricing, index and counterparty data in internal systems.
  • Works closely with middle office and global operations teams to reconcile fund holdings between front and back office systems on a daily basis.
  • Ensures data feed services levels are met and data is properly loaded into internal systems. Elevates issues to the appropriate support team.
  • Executes and analyzes a wide variety of data exception reports and quality control queries to maintain data accuracy utilized by the investment management team.
  • Uses external data vendors to obtain and validate market data in ongoing support of front office.
  • Provides ongoing reporting to fulfill the needs of both regulatory bodies and internal partners.
  • Maintains a comprehensive conceptual understanding of investment data across all asset types (bonds, equities, derivatives, indexes etc.). Develops a comprehensive understanding of data flows and recommends controls to ensure data accuracy.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:
  • Undergraduate degree (Accounting/Finance preferred) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum two years of work experience.
  • An understanding of equity, fixed income and derivative security characteristics is required for this role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, VBA, and Bloomberg skills. Working knowledge of Informix SQL is a significant plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced and ambiguous environment, working with multiple and diverse responsibilities.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical ability to analyze issues quickly and independently to take appropriate action under varied time constraints with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
